Walker Art Museum jn Minneapolis. Bizarre pieces of work & a lovely owl hat from a coworker who makes hats! Formerly a NYC hat designer for people like Isacc Mizarahi & Diane Von Furstenberg!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Do you believe it’s holiday time all ready? We can’t! A fun yet bizarre week for us this November holiday. First on Monday Seattle got 4″ of snow which is equivalent to 2 ft in cities that are used to snow. Seattle shut down completely, restaurants, roads & James’ work. Then Tuesday we flew to Minneapolis for 4 more inches! Beautiful here when you don’t have to drive in it. We stayed at the uber hip W hotel and enjoyed the most lovely meals throughout our visit in MN. Lauren provided a “storybook holiday” as Mrs. Cadd stated with good food, company and animals. We hope everyone enjoyed their day as well!

We’ve been busy adjusting into our new NW life, enjoying our work and making new friends. James just finished an interactive game preview for a website and I’m preparing for the holidays at Savour where I work. Creating daily specials to generate business has been extremely well received by the public and my boss, win! Most popular so far has been a pumpkin sage pesto with pear & Camembert cheese panini. Hello Fall!! Gift baskets, wine club, cheese classes are also in the works! Lots of ideas!
Fun stuff too – a drive thru the Cascades, a comedy show, trapeze & pasta, wine tastings, comic book opening and lots of cooking! Oh we go to the gym now too so we can have more fun 🙂

Life is full

Wow. Wow. Life has taken off and I am not complaining. I wish I had an extra pair of hands and about 6 hours more in a day. Last I wrote I was heading to NYC for Murray’s Cheese Boot Camp in Greenwich Village. Amazing. Unbelievably informative and just plain fun. 3 days, 15hrs and 55 cheeses later I am a certified cheese graduate! I ate 3lbs of cheese, drank 3-5 bottles of Prosecco & wine and took a tour through the 5 cheese caves! Cheese caves? In Europe all retail spaces have caves to properly age their cheeses, Murrays is the only one in the US. I learned the history of fromage, affinage and pairings. My buddy Tommy works at Murrays too so I got to hang and stay with him and his lovely wife. NY was fabulous. I love visiting that city!!!

Beer Dinner

James & I went to Deschutes Beer & Food pairing last week in downtown Seattle. The beer is from Oregon, one of James’ faves. A very rich meal it was, fried oysters, pork belly and even a beer float! We had fun!

New York New York!!

I’m off to NY for Murray’s Cheese Shop Boot Camp! 3 days of extensive curd education!
